💡 Networking tips for students
- Send a thank-you note within 24–48 hours of meeting someone.
- Ask for advice, not a job — people love sharing their story.
- Follow up every 4–8 weeks with something genuine: an article, an update on your progress, a congratulations.
- Take notes right after a conversation — where you met, what you talked about, anything personal they shared.
- Quality over quantity: 15 warm relationships beat 200 cold LinkedIn connections.

👤 Profile

⚙️ Defaults
✨ AI features
Used for syllabus import and the AI study assistant. Your key is sent directly to the provider from your browser and saved only on this device — never on the server.
🧩 Coursework features
Turn off anything you don't use — it disappears from the Coursework menu. You can turn it back on any time.
🔑 Sign in with Google
Optional. Paste a Google OAuth Client ID to add a "Sign in with Google" button with one-tap auto-login. Create one free at Google Cloud Console (OAuth client → Web application), and add your site's address under Authorized JavaScript origins. Note: this provides login only — data still stays in each browser unless you add a backend.
🔗 Google Docs sync
Auto-sync your notes to nicely formatted Google Docs as you write (needs a Google Client ID above, with the Google Docs API and Drive API enabled in that project). Each note has its own "Sync to Docs" toggle in the Notes app. Your Google access token stays on this device — Loop's server never sees it.
🔔 Reminders
Get nudged about due follow-ups.
📥 Auto-log by email
Stop logging by hand. Forward any email with a contact — or BCC this address when you reach out — and Loop logs it on the matching contact automatically. Just send from this account's email ().
🔒 Privacy & your data
Loop is private by default. Your notes and relationships live only in this browser — nothing you write about a contact is ever shown to them, and nothing is sent to any server. Export regularly to back up or move devices.
📥 Share Loop with friends
Download Loop as a single file you can email or message to a friend — they just double-click it to open. It's a fresh copy: none of your contacts or your account come with it.
⚠️ Danger zone
Keyboard shortcuts: c capture · n new contact · / search · Esc close
🛡️ Admin
Control center for the whole site — manage apps, access, the home page, users, and email.
🧩 Apps
Choose which apps everyone sees on the hub. The Admin app is always available to admins.
🔒 Invite-only access password
Everyone needs this shared password to reach the sign-in screen. Leave it blank and save to make the site open to anyone.
🏠 Home page content
Edit the headline and intro text shown on the public landing page.
🧩 Customize dropdowns
Edit the dropdown options everyone uses (one per line). Message templates have their own page — see ✏️ Templates in the sidebar.
👑 Admins & users
Grant or revoke admin by email. People must sign in with Google once before they can be made an admin.
📝 Waitlist
People who requested access from the gate screen.
Show as plain text (select & copy manually)
✉️ Email reminders setup
For reliable delivery, send through an email mailbox on your domain (SMTP). On Hostinger: create an email account, then use host smtp.hostinger.com, port 465, security SSL, and that mailbox's email + password below.
Cron command (paste into hPanel → Cron Jobs, run daily):
📥 Email-to-log (auto-log forwarded / BCC'd emails)
Create a dedicated mailbox (e.g. log@yourdomain.com) on Hostinger, then enter its POP3 details. Members forward or BCC their outreach to that address from their Loop account email, and Loop logs it on the matching contact. Polling runs with the same cron job above.
⚠️ Reset everything
Wipe all accounts, their data, the waitlist, and settings — a full factory reset of the live site. You'll be signed out, and the next account to register becomes the new admin.
✏️ Message templates
These are the drafts in the Assistant. Tokens get filled in automatically: {first} {name} {company} {role} {metAt} {me}. Keep a Subject: line at the top.
📝 Notes
Write notes, attach files, and link them together. Type [[Note title]] to link notes, - [ ] for a checklist, > for a quote, and add keywords to group related notes.
